This fish is readily known by its distinctive and colourful pattern. The Golden-lined Sweetlips, Family Haemulidae, ia a blue to blue-grey fish with about eight narrow yellow bands running backwards from the head along the length of the body, those on the upper portion commencing on the snout. All the fins are bright yellow. The dorsal fin carries two narrow blue lines. It frequents tropical coastlines, with this individual being photographed amongst the coral on the Great Barrier Reef, Australia. This species may reach up to 20 inches in length.
