When Mike Slee and Jonathan Barker recovered from the success of making “Bugs 3D”, it was perhaps not surprising that they chose a topic that invoked similar conservation and detailed wildlife messages and made use of the teams' combined experiences, hence they asked Peter and Chris, once again, to join them on “Flight of the Butterflies”.
The photographic demands of 'butterflies' though were very different to what we did on ‘Bugs’, so Peter spent an entire winter in the machine shop, designing and building a rig to take a pair of RED cameras and allow extreme close up, Micro-zoom, 3-D, image capture.
